Job description

Highly qualified financial specialist sought to fulfill accounting, bookkeeping and auditing duties in a fast-paced professional office setting. Jobsite is in Downtown Brooklyn location.

Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Duties include:

  • Applying accounting principles to compile and analyze financial information
  • Preparing entries to accounts
  • Documenting business transactions
  • Auditing contracts, orders, and vouchers; preparing reports
  • Budget management and purchase order processing
  • Computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete
  • Performing any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records
  • May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers

What you need to have

Skills
  • Proficiency in using a calculator and computer required
  • Ability to maintain manual or computer-based systems for general accounting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Access as requested
  • Fluent in Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Able to manage and complete multiple projects by the deadlines
Prior experience & qualifications
  • Associate's degree or High School diploma with at least 2 years of related experience required
  • Experience in Accounts Payable, Financial Analysis, Purchase Order Processing and/or Budget Management strongly preferred
Languages
