Here is an exciting opportunity to work in the Accounting Department for a reputable non-profit organization!

Location/Hours: Astoria, Queens - (8:30am to 4:30pm)

Duties include:

  • Assisting the Accounts Payable Manager with processing invoices, check requests and requests for reimbursement payments
  • Reviewing and preparing documents to be processed for payment
  • Entering and posting payable documents in Navision system
  • Sorting and dispatching check payments to be mailed out
  • Contacting vendors to resolve problems related to outstanding payments and missing documents needed to pay invoices
  • Backing up the A/P manager and purchasing department: printing checks, handling the A/P petty cash & emergency fund, sending the daily deposit to the bank, issuing purchase orders, etc.
  • Preparing monthly reports such as Fixed Assets, Expense Equipment, Deferred Charges, etc
  • Assisting on preparation for annual auditing
  • Updating information related to new programs and worksites
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned by supervisor

What you need to have

  • Proficient typist
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
Prior experience & qualifications
  • 2 years of related experience in a fast paced environment
  • Only applicants with some college education will be considered
