Non-profit organization seeking a top candidate to join their team of professionals to provide intake support for customers and individuals with disabilities (IWD) and other barriers to employment.

*This position requires 90% travel - 8:30am – 4:30pm (2-3 days/week)

Part-Time – Temporary Assignment; Bronx & Westchester, NY (travel required)

  • Travel to various locations in the Bronx & Westchester to meet incoming applicants and conduct professional, timely and efficient interviews
  • Screen applicant résumés, interviewing skills, work readiness attitude and provide feedback/information about our agency and available resources
  • Perform data entry to look up and create applicant files in databases
  • Build and maintain relationships and partner/familiarize oneself with CBO’s (Community Based Organizations) in order to assist with getting candidates referrals
  • Identify, qualify and add applicants to the placement hotlist for various positions
  • Schedule appointments via telephone/email as needed to assist the Recruiting department
  • Attend meetings, job fairs and other events to network and promote the company
  • Assist the intake team with applicants screening (completing necessary paperwork as needed
  • Attend morning meetings to ascertain what new information on jobs that are available
  • Pay special note to the wants and needs of Placement and Special Accounts
  • Take ongoing training in computers and other areas in order to be more adept at this crucial part of temp/temp to hire employment services

What you need to have

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, Data Entry/Typing and databases
  • Able to work with individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment
  • Well organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable traveling to areas in the Bronx & Westchester (no set office location)
Prior experience & qualifications
  • Experience and/or knowledge of I-9 form requirements strongly preferred
  • 1+ years of college and/or 2+ years of related experience
