Mon-Fri (8am to 4pm) - $35,000/yr

Effective, professional and reliable individual needed to:

  • Develop and locate suitable internship opportunities for specific populations
  • Provide outreach services to local businesses, employers, and community-based organizations to develop volunteer/internship opportunities
  • Provide information on Goodwill programs and services; develop resource list for referrals, and notify placement staff of job openings in the community
  • Maintain records necessary for reporting
  • Promotes and develops internship/volunteer opportunities for a specific population
  • Schedule outreach appointments at businesses and Community organizations; a minimum of 4 appointments per day
  • Build and maintain employer relationships and contacts by visiting employers in the community 4 days out of the week
  • Actively utilizes labor market research, occupational/employment forecast reports to develop employer relationships
  • Refer suitable participants to internship sites based on interests, location and accessibility
  • Serve as an agency representative at various community and social service events to help increase internship opportunities and program participation
  • Works closely with program staff and various funders
  • Assess personal needs of students which may impact job readiness and makes appropriate recommendations * Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly reports on the outreach completed and individualized participant information
  • Prepare, organize and maintain information on a weekly and monthly basis for the reporting process
  • May prepare and give presentations to potential students and parents in various settings
  • Communicate regularly with all stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media
  • Maintain employer database in the Foothold AWARDS system
  • Attend department and team meetings as scheduled (Other duties and assignments as may be assigned at the sole discretion of the employer)

What you need to have

  • Intermediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook a plus
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
  • Navigate and negotiate through difficult situations
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Prior experience & qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 2 years’ experience in career/job search related employment
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and ongoing access to own transportation
  • Must be willing to use private transportation to travel to employers in counties throughout Northern NJ
  • ASL preferred
  • Bi-lingual a plus
  • Must be able to travel
