Location: Long Island City, Queens, NY

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Full time)

Office Assistants provide support duties to the organization as needed. Act as a backup receptionist and provides administrative services to staffs by copying documents, getting office supplies and kitchen supplies. Perform general maintenance of the facility and office equipment.

Duties will include:

  • Greeting the public in a professional and friendly manner as customers come in to the agency
  • Asking customers for the reason for their visit and assist with issuing a queue ticket
  • Giving verbal instructions to customers related to their visit to the agency
  • Reading the kiosk selections and help the customers choose the correct option
  • Standing for long period of time to greet and assist customers who enter the facility
  • Reviewing customer paperwork to determine whether it complies with guidelines or not
  • Making calls and emailing customers regarding upcoming appointments and/or requirements needed
  • Distributing incoming mails and preparing outgoing mail for shipping using postage meter
  • Multi-lingual proficiency is a strong plus

What you need to have

  • Skilled in customer service
  • Capable of effective, clear and concise oral and written communications
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
Prior experience & qualifications
  • Prior related experience strongly preferred
