Job description

  • Perform the work involved, altering, renovating, repairing, and maintaining office and storage space in the central and field offices; does related work as required
  • Manual work may be involved in the maintenance operations, which may include a variety of duties requiring physical exertion, manipulative ability, the routine use of hand machine and/or power tools
  • Maintain records/files, review department inventory practices and procedures and make suggestions for improvements
  • Review the adequacy and effectiveness of basic current operating inventory systems and makes recommendations concerning performance standards, need for more analysis of shelf inventory, and proper document control

What you need to have

  • Knowledge of the interpretation of specifications and the evaluation of technical data
  • Knowledge of the methods involved in simple repair and maintenance
  • Ability to organize assigned work and develop appropriate work methods
  • Ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate, and informative reports
  • Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to see that work areas are kept in a clean, orderly and safe condition and see that equipment is properly used and kept in good repair
  • Ability to work with Microsoft office applications
Prior experience & qualifications
  • Successful completion of sixty (60) semester hours at an accredited college or university
  • Two (2) years of work involving building operation, contract administration, construction management, real estate acquisition/appraising/negotiation, property management, or related field
