Job description

The purpose of this position is to administer activities and process transactions for one of the following Human Resources areas: Benefits, Employment, HRIS and Training. The Senior Analyst has thorough knowledge of one or more Human Resources areas, coaches less experienced team members and provides guidance on process area procedures.

Worksite location in Flushing, Queens. Schedule: 8 am to 4 pm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Gathering, validating and maintaining data and other transaction inputs
  • Entering transactions in database and service request management tool
  • Retrieving, indexing and reviewing scanned documents and forms
  • Providing satisfactory customer service by receiving, analyzing, researching and resolving issues
  • Integrating across business services teams to document, research & resolve intermediate issues & errors
  • Performing/Supporting cyclical processing and period-end activities
  • Developing and updating operating procedures and training materials as needed
  • Understanding how responsibilities fit into strategies
  • Maintaining appropriate level of process, functional and technical knowledge and training
  • Mentoring, coaching and supporting other team members as appropriate
  • Ensuring that all assignments are completed within agreed-to parameters
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
  • Documenting, identifying and reviewing input to knowledge-management tool
  • Supporting project activities including: requirements-gathering, functional design & configuration, testing, training design, development & delivery and post-production support

What you need to have

  • Must possess thorough knowledge of Human Resources administration
  • Ability to work with, train and coach other team members
  • Working knowledge and use of PeopleSoft or related HRIS database software
  • Ability to process requests consistently with general supervision
  • Ability to prioritize problems and promptly resolve or escalate when necessary
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to manage individual assignments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets
  • Working knowledge of service request management tools
  • Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (e.g., GroupWise, MS Office applications) and web-based applications
  • Knowledge of Shared Services
Prior experience & qualifications
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Human Resources data processing
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree with relevant experience in Business or related field
