Job description

Service Analyst is a unique position that requires more technical and analytical skills than other positions. They are frequently required to work on holidays and weekends to supervise passenger counts and enter count data. In addition, Service Analysts will frequently need to work early morning or late evening shifts. Working some of these shifts may result in time-and-a-half pay.

Duties include:

  • Entering count data into spreadsheet files on computer
  • Assisting staff in analyzing and reporting count data
  • Verifying count data and confirming validity of counts
  • Assisting staff with the weekly scheduling of technicians and supervisors and the preparation of necessary count forms and schedules
  • Conducting random “spot-checks” of technicians and supervisors
  • Preparing and processing weekly time sheets for part-time workers
  • Assisting in the ongoing record-keeping of work performance
  • Organizing survey questionnaires to be distributed
  • Occasionally conducting counts, distributing survey questionnaires onboard trains and at stations and assisting staff on other projects

What you need to have

Skills
  • Prior knowledge of computer spreadsheet and word processing programs (e.g., Excel, Word)
  • Able to work independently
  • Extremely reliable
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills
Prior experience & qualifications
  • A neat appearance and professional demeanor
  • Drivers license preferred
  • College background or other post-secondary education (e.g., relevant computer courses) preferred
