Location: Long Island City, NY

Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm

Experienced individual needed to serve as labor law compliance officer within the organization. Responsible for data input and maintenance, record keeping, analyzing records, data posting, updating investigation information and verification of records and conducting field visits.

Duties to include:

  • Examining, evaluating, and investigating conformity with laws and regulations governing contract compliance of licenses and permits and other enforcement inspection activities
  • Performing data input and maintenance, record keeping, analyzing and verifying records, posting data and updating investigation information
  • Conducting site visits to jobsites to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
  • Investigating prevailing wage cases and assisting with labor law compliance cases
  • Conducting interviews with contractors and performing professional investigations designed to prevent and detect violations of prevailing wage laws
  • Assembling and verifying data and/or the collection of evidence on prevailing wage employees hired for contract work
  • Examining and analyzing records and documents, including invoices submitted by contractors for payments
  • Preparing written and statistical reports and reporting the results of interviews
  • Utilizing computer systems to assist in the processing of investigations
  • Testifying at hearings and in court proceedings
  • Making on-site field visits and performing surveillance if needed
  • Performing other related duties as needed

What you need to have

  • Prior knowledge of and familiarity with labor law is a strong plus
  • Investigative skills are a strong plus
  • Computer knowledge and experience are required
Prior experience & qualifications
  • 1-2 years of related experience is required
  • Post-secondary vocational award is highly preferred
