Expanding options for people with disabilities

NYSID in the news

The Times Union, a capital region newspaper, recently published a great article by New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) CEO and President Ron Romano.

NYSID has for several decades advocated for people with disabilities. Through numerous member organizations like Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey and it's staffing division, GoodTemps.

NYSID has put tens of thousands of people with disabilities to work in meaningful jobs that generated vital tax revenue for New York State - in 2011 alone, over $47 million was paid in wages to people with disabilities. In the article, Mr. Romano urges the continued expansion of economic opportunities for people with disabilities, a population that typically suffers from a higher unemployment rate and hiring discrimination.
