Google Maps unveils subway service alerts

Google Maps is a fantastic tool for getting around, and an equally great tool for navigating New York City's subway system - especially when you're heading to work or an interview.

Google has just posted an update to their service that in addition to subway directions and arrival times, will also alert you to planned service changes affecting your route. You can read about the new feature on Google's blog or jump right in and go to maps.google.com.
